I put mine outdoors for the summer in a shady spot. They stay out as long as I dare without the frost getting to them. The trick to reblooming is cool nights whilst daylight hours are short - 8 to 10°c is what you'll be aiming for at night, 10 to 15°c daytime.
They can get big!

How shady? Light dappled shade? Or full shade? I can put it where it'll get morning sun up until about 11 am & then shade for the rest of the day. Generally we stay in the 90s for most of the summer so I find that many plants that prefer a mostly sunny location can handle more shade here....the afternoon sun is just too hot.

Early morning sun is fine over here.........

Don't forget to water and feed it!

yes, from Sean's uncle Tim! I hope the cats don't kill it when I take it home - it is still at Sean's antique shop. The only house plants I can have are hanging plants and even those aren't entirely safe.
I had a beautiful cactus, a Euphorbia trigona - I think - that was about 15" high and had some nice sharp spines. The cats completely ignored it, but I came home after Christmas to find that they had somehow sliced off the top 8" or so. It was as if they took a knife and cut it off, I don't know how they did it. So I don't think this poor orchid will survive at my house. I've tried wrapping plants with rabbit wire and hardware cloth and it still doesn't work - the stupid cats try to eat them!!
