Generally speaking the smallest bud is a leaf the largest bud the flower. However, when well grown pleione can produce two flower buds but you wont know that untill they are larger. Remember no water until flower has started to fade ( its a tearful moment ) but you will have the photos & will also be an addict of which there is no known cure. LOL Good luck

Alex - I have a pot with eleven of them doing their stuff. Imagine how excited I am! And best of all, those eleven large bulbs acme from just three last year!!!
