Last winter, this plant decided it was too cold to flower. No such problems, this year - it's covered in buds

Smashing clematis Andrew.
Does take a long while after planting to establish and start flowering ? :o)))

TT - no, I think it was only three or four years to start flowering (it was planted ten year ago so I'm trying hard to remember). It's quite a vigorous one though - 15 feet or so - so needs a large shrub to climb through rather than a small piece of trellis. It also goes into a summer dormancy so be prepared for it to look dead in the summer!

I have sown seeds for this in August (I think). Still now sign of germination. I might just buy the plant in the end....it is a gorgeous Clematis.
