hi Dorjac ,it has been a very strange winter ,these lobelia were still looking good in early december
I think the plants are quite confused lol .So far we have had no snow !!!! at all and it has not been as frosty and cold either. Mind you we could still get some.
I am itching to get back out in the garden :-))

I was out in the garden this afternoon, catching up on plant protection. Just got mobile again after breaking my ankle on 2/12/11, with not all tender plants protected. Cold, but no wind at all, and a bit of sunshine before I came indoors. A robin was hopping about near me all the time I was busy. They seem to be nesting in ivy over the wall. Now I have most plants fleeced up or under cover, in case it's as cold as the forecast says. So I feel satisfied about my efforts today.

What a good job I made that effort to get plants undercover Helen. I hope you managed to get sorted at your end. It snowed about 5-6 inches Sat/Sun night. Today it's bright and no frost overnight by the look of it.
The garden looked very pretty with snow on all the twigs and branches. Just a pity it wasn't a sunny day to show it off before it started dropping down.

For a moment I thought 'ah someone else with trailing lobelia in January' then I saw the date in August. I looked specially, and I do have perlargoniums flowering still, under the canopy. Seems like freezing Wednesday, to come, might sort them out, if shelter not given. There is also a million bells petunia, in a basket, in the garden, with minute leaves, still in profuse leaf. Yesterday it was 3C at 12md. I have to make the effort to move them to cover. A very strange winter.
