This is only a few of the hundreds of many species of palms in the front yard. Some are in the ground and many are in pots. Photo taken Feb. 6, 2012.

Yes, some are in pots to keep them smaller. There's not enough room in the yard for all these palms to get to their ultimate height.

They self seed so easy.....I find little palms everywhere.

Many of these palms don't self seed. Many are not mature enough to produce seeds and are diecious not monoecious.
Just in this little group of palms there's: Chamaedorea elegans, seifrizii, hooperiana; Rhopalostylis sapida, baueri; Howea fosteriana; Ravenea glauca; Ravenea madagascariensis 'Monticola' and the very common Phoenix roebelenii.

Yes, I do. I originally joined The International Palm Society (IPS) back in 1984. I still have hundreds of species of palms, even though I've sold off many over the years.

Why in pots?
