I've posted many pics of the golden/yellow African tulip tree. This variety has become very popular over the last decade. It's a grafted tree...or grown from cuttings.

Yes, it would make a beautiful painting! I want to get a cutting of this tree from someone. It grows relatively easy form cutting. I have some cuttings growing, which I took from my African Tulip tree last year.

Yes, they're sold at most nurseries and the big box stores like The Home Depot and Lowe's.
