Great pic. I'd love to grow some on the wild side but haven't yet looked into their likes and dislikes.

They are brilliant plants, finches love them.

wonder why? seeds, I presume, but those spikes look formidable. Of course, the finches have probably evolved exactly the right kind of beak to deal with them.

A beautiful photo of a wonderful plant Pimpernel and a definite favourite with Goldfinches. Of course when in flower, Bumblebees and butterflies are drawn to it . . . and me!
