Erythrina coralloides - Naked Coral Tree

It's one of the hardier species of Erythrina...although, not nearly as hardy as E. crista-gallii.

This tree looses its leaves the ending of January or early February just before it starts to bloom..

A real beauty, tried to grow one of these, failed! :o((

Was it this species or Erythrina crista-gallii?

There's more than 130 species of Erythrina...most likely we grow 50 species or so in California.

No I have a E.crista-gallii, that one is still alive :o)

You had a E. coralloides which died?

E. crista-gallii is one of the hardiest of the species. Most of the other species are very tender trees.
