Magnolia Susan

Quite excited by this, our first Flower bud beginning to open...
Since we've had this magnolia, she had produced just one flower per year, this year it look like we'll get a treat, OH has counted 6 so far...
This is the tree we train as a standard, looks like it's going to be a good one too...

Thankyou...

that is a shame Crissue, it was a strange winter i lost a few items to.... still makes room for more plants ...

It's sad, especially when they've been doing good...and I lost one Heather, a young one which was a bit of a supprise...still you're right, room for more...
Maybe it's just a bit slow Moti fingers crossed for you...

I bought one of these in Morrisons last week :o) no buds this year though.

Aw I just bought a pittisporrum today :)

That looks lovely Crissue. Shame about your shrubs. I have 2 Pittosporums one was wrapped with hessian and the other was kept in neighbours greenhouse as it is in a container. I didn't know they were tender when I bought them!!

I don't think they are Scottish, if left they'll grow into beautiful trees...so I think it was a shock for some of my plants etc...to experience those temperatures...

Nice to see Magnolia Susan is still popular, we have two more buds on the top now, very excited this year, I'll wait till they open then snap them again..

Some of them can be Crissue. One of mine 'Gold Star' was marked hardy - but I think the GCs use the same label all over the country! Therefore a plant that is ok in milder regions will have the same label up here in Scotland!!

We were up to minus 16 at times...pretty tough conditions for ours to take...but I get what you're saying, bit naughty really with the labelling...Ours was at least four years old...quite a shock when we lost it...
