Thank you all. Another lovely accident is the fact that this one is planted in front of that dark marroon leaved rhody 'ebony pearl' which will highlight the marroon spots in the flower and contrast beautifully with the pale flowers as it clumps up in the years to come. Some of my hellebores are huge this year...the biggest I've ever seen, so they clealy like it here. I scatter lime around them in the summer as I have slightly acid soil...they seem to benefit from it. I won't be able to do that with this one as it is too near the rhody, but I think it will be just fine.

Absolutely Beautiful!

Ah, thanks PT, it seems to have been quite 'admired' this one. They are all beautiful to me. Some are much showier than this but the subtle ones have their own particular charm. :))

It looks similar to the 'Washfield doubles' Karen. Anticipation is one of the gardeners quiet joys and having it fulfilled with a flower like this is even better.

A lovely surprise to find that one of my 'pack of six, lucky dip' hellebores is a double. They are all beautiful though.
