Been a bit unwell these last few days but managed a short walk in the woods this morning, accompanied by my daughter and grandson plus dogs. Spotting this solitary bluebell in flower cheered me up. Soon there will be a mass of them :)

Soon it will be like blue mist in the woods and cheer you even more Gee. What a shame you feel bad when the weather is so wonderful. OH had a gruesome day yesterday, but seems quite chipper today...much to my relief! So perhaps you will be the same and bounce back by tomorrow.

Thank you both. I'm sure I will bounce back soon. It's a long time since I've suffered from a 'gippy' tummy and its knocked the stuffing out of me! Glad your OH is better today, Dorjac. I've just come in from the garden, a really lovely day.

That's early isn't it ?
Sorry you've been unwell. I hope you're better now.

Really early there Gee mine are just leaves like scotsgran's! A cheering sight though, I hope you are back to full strength by now :o)

Hope you're soon feeling back to normal Gee. I've noticed some of my bluebells have got flowers forming - bit early isn't it?

Thank you all, feeling much better today :) The leaves of the bluebells have been growing fast up in the woods where I walk Millie. Some areas seem more advanced than others, I suppose it depends on the light. I love bluebell time and the return of the nightingales - heaven :)

Lovely bluebell,
Hope you are very soon completely better.

How lovely to be able to hear nightingales singing. Such a lovely name and song. They used to sing in some trees next a memorial park between 2 hospitals next to a busy duel carriage way. The 2 hospitals have gone to housing. The park and trees are still there, and I wonder about the nightingales. When I feel a bit down I must think....bluebell...nightingale Gee.

Thanks, Sticki. It is shame, Dojac, when these things happen. Where I used to live I used to hear and see cuckoos each year but then they built huge industrial units, tore down trees, etc etc. The little natural footpaths I used to take to walk my dogs were blocked and that was the deciding factor to make me move. It was the best thing I could have done :)

Yesterday we drove back from a meet up dinner with friends at Kingsclere near Newberry. Decided to come off at the Waltham Abbey sliproad which leads through Epping Forest. As we crawled up to a roundabout we saw how tinder dry is the forest floor. Dull and colourless. No fresh green shoots there at all, only the breaking buds on the trees. When cars turned in to park they stirred up clouds of dust, so they could hardly see ahead. In Essex this is a really severe drought. Spring is not very green in our famous forest!

What a shame, Dorjac. The paths through our woods are hard and dry but everything still seems to be growing. I hope you get some much needed rain soon, but during the night :)

This drought is far from fun. I find in spite of all the rain we have had my pots of winter flowering pansies were dying from lack of water. I suppose the drying winds have not helped either. The grass is still growing though. It must be very worrying for anyone living in that area.

I hope you are feeling better Gill , nothing worse than feeling grotty when the weather has been so nice , We didn't use to see Bluebells until about late April/May they are getting earlier .......

Much better, thanks, Amy. At least the up side was that I lost some weight :) Walked in the woods yesterday and the blue is becoming much more visible.

I hope you feel better soon. Its a rotten time of year to feel under par. I hope the sun is shining for you. That is a beautiful shade of blue and a welcome sight but it means Spring is moving along at an alarming rate. Ours are just strappy leaves at the moment.
