Meanie:
I really like this one, also. I've never grown one before. In fact, I've been into orchids for just the last 2 or 3 years.

I remember your Paphiopedilum collection. It's incredible!
If I had a huge lath-structure like the Botanical Building in Balboa Park, I would have a lot more orchids.

I intend to build on it this year too.

That's great! I'm guessing you're going to have a lot more room in your new house. :>)

Not really as I'll lose the conservatory. But I'm thinking of building a vivarium in the cellar!!

Meanie, that sounds terrific!

Strikes me that it could be fun!

It sounds very expensive, though.

I have most of the materials to make it - the biggest expense will be the grow lights and heating it.

Yes, I would guess it would be very costly to heat. It's worth it, though. Since growing plants is your passion. :>)

I suppose that it would depend upon the size.........
29 Mar, 2012
Of course it has to be big! We're guys, we like everything big! lol! :>)

Might be a better idea to go small until I get the hang of it........

That's most likely the logical way to go.
