A nice surprise in autumn! It is named after a good friend. I love this strange colour!

Hi Simbad! Yes enjoy your spring. The days are still warm here, but some leaves are turning yellow and the night temperatures are a little bit cooler now.

We're having some glorious weather at the moment, forecast to be 21 degrees today, very unusual for March, I'm busy splitting lots of my overgrown perennials then its on to the daylilies, some of the clumps are really huge now.

I went and counted seedlings with scapes the other day - 50! But our spring winds are doing their worst. I had a First Opening the other day, but the flower didn't survive the 70KPH breeze.

Oh Wylie that must have been such a disappointment to lose that first opening. I hope all the others will survive. I am looking forward to see those pictures! Simbad I also have a few clumps that are too huge now. I'm postponing it until the very last minute, for it is a great job. I still have over a hundred seedlings that needs to be planted in the daylily beds and that is my first priority now, before winter catches up with me.

Exciting Daglelie 100 seedlings !!!! so many to look forward to next year, bet yours don't take so long to reach flowering as they do here, its usually 3 years here, 2 if you're lucky.
Yes those big clumps take some splitting don't they, I spent yesterday afternoon, trying to split a huge aruncus plant, the crown was thick like wood, hubby got the chainsaw to it in the end just couldn't cut it with my spade, all the pieces are now planted in their new homes, thank goodness :-)
Poor you Wylie I hate the wind, and we don't get it as bad as you, we still need to replace a few roof tiles that we lost a few months ago when we had a couple of gales, 50 scapes!!!! no sign of any here yet.

Simbad most of the time I also have to be patient for 2 years, but every now and then I get lucky to see results int he following spring. Patience is not of my strong points!
