Thankyou everyone who likes our job so far...Hi Barbara, once OH got the pond as he wanted it and filled, everything has gone really well...still a way to go and loads of straw to take off the garden that's been protecting the Perennials...
Hi Kat, The Post is one of two Posts, that the hanging baskets hang on...I've got one basket planted up already, and it hangs in our Sun room, with little trips out into the Garden to harden off...

Happy Sunday one and all...and our thanks, only one little problem, the pond sited in a more exposed position, catches all the falling petals, pretty as they are...they look like confetti floating on the water...Can't wait to get a lovely water lily...
I think this is the first time ever, I'm ready to buy before the GC has the items in...:o))

Brilliant Crissue. You are doing so much better than me. I'm still agonising about what shape to make the pond. Haven't even pushed spade in to turf yet! lol

Hi Karen, this time we chose a pre forma, so much easier than the rubber, and no waste, this one carries a 25 year guarantee, and we chose a two shelf one though you can get different designs, perhaps you may like to consider one,, it will save a lot of work..

We've also chosen an aeration pump without filter, but just gives a gentle ripple across the pond, and oxygen for the Fish, and OH put the lead into a piece of hosepipe, and buried it, and the other part is buried under the patio...and comes up where the outside socket is...He also moved the pump to the deepest end, so the more narrower end, will have the Water Lily with little disturbance...Sooo looking forward to the progress..
Later on we'll buy a Pond vax which cleans the pond as required...
Good luck with yours...x

Thanks, yes, I am going for the hard liner, but which one to get? lol ;))

Hi Karen, I think there were about five different designs when we looked, a four shelf - two shelf - no shelf and I can't remember the others, as you sort of know when you see the one that's right...lol...of course the bigger you go for, the design is endless....exciting isn't it...

Well Crissue. I have spent so long thinking about it, shopping for the right liner, watching Monty on GW, and today I looked at the spot and thought do you know what I am going to do with that area.....I am going to plant a plum tree....so pond is now definitely 'off'. I was thinking about all the work and how I would really need electricity..blah..blah and I just decided I didn't want to do it. Perhaps it will be next year's project, but I think knowing me, it would have been done by now if I was ever going to do it! lol.....

Oooh a Plum Tree nice, I love Plums, we grew a few along the top bank at our other house, and did they produce, they're were called Mirabelle, delicious...If we knew then that the new owners would rip the garden out, and make it into a yard, we could have taken the chance and brought a couple with us...We bought a Cherry Tree last Summer, WRONG time and fought hard to keep it going all through the HOT Summer, but it was sold buy one get one free, that's how we aquired our Fig Tree, and do you know, it's just leafing up, and we have one flower, 'hooray' we did it...
Never mind about the Pond, if and when lol....
