I think I am falling for those little saxifrages! This one here looks quite similar to my new one though a little bit pinker. They are such sweet little things aren't they.

Karen it's a pinky red but my camera is crap and it was taken on a shady part of the day. This is another plant I have had no success with in my garden soil so maybe the pot will work (would love a proper rockery/raised bed again after the move).

yeah, me three...and with those alpines it's all about drainage isn't it....

I could grow all of these in my old garden, and yes you're right all down to drainage. Here they are either sodden in winter or baked in summer. A raised bed would work but would never have fitted in anywhere in this garden, maybe in the next one....
