Cuphea ignea - Cigar Plant

This plant is only suppose to grow to 3ft/1m. However, the plants here in San Diego, CA. don't know that because they grow to more than twice that height here. This plant has thousands of flowers all year! Photo taken in Balboa Park.

It lives a very long time and grows into a good-sized wide shrub to 7ft/2.2m tall.

Actually, Cuphea species their varieties are very commonly grown here.
