Dicentra spectabilis 'Valentine'

AndrewR

By Andrewr

Dicentra spectabilis 'Valentine' (Dicentra spectabilis)

This is a new purchase - a red-flowered form of bleeding heart. You can see the 'ordinary' one on the right, more of a pinky colour.
Apparently, we're now supposed to call this lamprocapnos spectabilis, but I'm waiting to see whether the new name 'sticks' (you may remember the outcry a few years ago when they tried to change the name of chrysanthemums and had to change them back again)

I like it, although not the name, I do wish they would stop messing around with plant names......
