Don't know which one this is DD, a fairly old variety as my mother in law gave it to me and shes had it in her garden forever:-), always the first to open but usually at the end of April.

I wish I could grow these - they last about 2 years and then stop flowering.

Thankyou Carole and Amy :-)
I have to split them every 3 years or so Wylie or they get too congested and stop flowering, bit like the daylilies really, you end up with loads of plants you don't know what to do with :-))

I tried splitting, but nothing, just lots of new fans without flowers. I ended up giving them to a friend who is a gardener (pro) and he has had nothing, either. :(

Strange Wylie, wonder why, maybe they don't like your climate?

Love iris, such a welcome sight to get one so early, lovely. Is that Elaeagnus X Ebbingei Limelight behind? I have a couple of young ones, how big is this one Kathy.

Thanks Dawn, yes it is have a couple of varieties of Elaeagnus always get them mixed up one is cream with green edges and the other green with cream edges???? they're both around 5- 6ft tall now, getting to the stage where I'm having to chop them back a bit, think they've been here around 7 years now.

I like them, yours must be adding quite an impact now at that height.
