Metasequoia 'Miss Grace'

Last Spring I really wanted a dawn redwood and decided to go with the weeping variety. I've seen larger specimens that were beautiful but this one looks sort of awkward and odd. I still like the foliage and bark but sort of wish I had gone with a smaller upright variety.

It does grow faster than I thought it would and I am planning on keeping it staked until it is 8' tall. I've seen some weeping forms of bald cypress that looked incredible but went with this because they seem more tolerant of dry conditions once established. I found out last year that these can be rooted from cuttings too.

Yeah I guess I could, it would take a while for them to grow and a lot of work to train them but I might try it to see how it goes.
