Thanks Cinders. I am really pleased with it now. Just have to make a trip to the quarry next week to find some more big stones and perhaps a couple of bags of smaller stones to fill in the gaps. All going really well now....:))))

I prefer this look Karen, and when it rains the stones will look lovely.

Yes, thank you GG. I like it better as well.

I prefer the stones to the logs too Karen

Yes looks better but maybe because you have put more plants in too. Log roll would have looked great too with plants but probably after awhile the plants would of hidden it, where as you will still see bits of the stones.
Dont know what we were all worried about, we knew it would look fab with you as project manager Karen :-)

The pond looks like it has always been there, can't wait to see the end result :))) no rush mind...:)))

I too prefer the stones to the log roll, although I suspect it was because it had not weathered. This looks brilliant - a super new addition to your already beautiful garden Karen :)

Yes, thanks everyone. The log roll would have looked much better in a couple of weeks, once it had weathered in, but I was concerned about the preservative getting in to the water as Drc mentioned, and I also felt that unless it had been 'perfectly' circular, it would always have looked a bit of a mess. My last pond just had stones and I liked it very much..it blended in to the planting nicely. This one will be the same as my old one, but circular.

Coming on a treat, Karen. Perfect circles always look good!

Thank you homebird. I am very pleased with it because before it was just a bit of grass with nothing much going on and the dog kept weeing on it! Now it is another area of interest for me, and ponds are very compelling aren't they....so fascinating to see what is going on there. Not much at the moment, but it won't be long until some wildlife finds the water I dare say!
