They have a festival here, when people give each other friendship gifts of little bunches of lily-of-the-valley...

...perhaps that's the French way of getting rid of the excess? lol! :)))

Aw I love it..it was Mums favourite plant..there used to be a whole load of it under the old tree in our old garden..wonder if its still there?

Aw...and it smells divine - Brin de Muguet (think that's how you spell it) - lily of the valley day must be coming up soon...

The stuff I've got started under the wisteria but, left to its own devices, spread throughout the garden.

My old neighbour, Michel, had lots too - planted at the foot of a north facing wall...

my grandma used to love lily of the valley, it reminds me of her.

Funny how plants etc remind us of times gone by..like songs eh? :))

not so good on the songs, only hymns in our house then!!!!
but plants definitely ~ another couple my grandma had were soldiers buttons [kerria???] and honeysuckle.

Oh yeah hymns here too..Dad always sung them washing the dishes :)
