I thought so Yorks...I collect young dandelions for my chooks, but I think I'll pinch a few and try it...I love Goats cheese, there are so many made here in France we're spoilt for choice, but you could use another cheese. I think where Goats Cheese has a distinct flavour, it's a combination of both...

Hi all, it takes a bit of getting used to, as it has a taste of it's own, I wouldn't say stronger, as there are many strong cheeses, that will take the roof of your mouth off...I love smoked Goats del-ic-ious....it has a pale grey/silver skin...try it...

Dandylions experiment. I made a salad last night with a tabouleh as a base, from Lidl! and added things like boiled egg, olives, gorgonzola , as i didnt have chevre , capers, cherry toms, chickpeas, raw garlic, chives, sorrel, thyme, sundried toms and i forgot what else, just about anything as i am on my own at the moment, and B isnt too keen on salads, i cld live on them alone!
when i came to the salad leaves i had something not very savoury in the bottom of my fridge so i remembered the dandelions, went out and picked a cple of hands full, just washed them and tore them up and in they went. Thumbs up, absolutely gorgeous, quite a strong taste but went beautifully with the salad. Good thing i garden organically!

I love French goat cheese. They are so tasty and healthy. Unfortunately, we have them rarely in shops. Usually just Tesco has them.

Hi everyone, glad I posted this pic now, I do get some interesting Recipes sent to me sometimes, and we love to try different things from the norm...
Resi your Salad sounded delicious...It's supprising just what you can add to salads, including fruit...yummy..and nutritious too...
Hi kat I'm supprised more farmers don't produce Goats Cheese considering the amount of Goats that are farmed...Here in France the males are shipped abroad for meat, or breeding, and the females are for breeding and the Milk/Cheese....I'm glad you can get it from Tescos, that is one store that seems to stock a variety of different produce from abroad so to speak...
Pix, perhaps you could try Tesco, or a Deli...good luck,,,
We used to have an old gent, that made his own, and would have his regular customers he would deliver too each month...several different choices...gorgeous...

It sounds interesting, as more and more young farmers here are oriented to breed goats, however, they are not so many to cover requirements of the market. Goat milk and cheese are here very popular especially because they are recommended to people with lactose deficiency (intolerance of cow´s milk) or allergy to cow milk.
Goat milk was once recommended as a strong nutritional stimulant in patients recovering from TBC.
