As well, is that a twisted willow or a hazel in the foreground..?

Yes Pimps, that is my twisted Hazel. It hasn't ever had a home in the ground before...I couldn't find a suitable spot. It looks great there in front of the pond. I'm really pleased with it now. Thanks everyone...the Indian Take-aways are busy tonight!

That looks great there, Karen...I was swithering about juniper yesterday...but the only ones on sale here tend to get quite big.

They are very expensive at the GC. I've bought 2 this year..one is in a pot in the japanese corner and about 2-3 times the size of this one, but they were both £20 each. They are perfect for this position though as they grow very slowly and only get to about 10" in 10 years.

That is perfect, Karen...and really dear!
They aren't so expensive here and are to be seen in lots of traditional gardens. I had one at the old house (no idea what variety) and it was a beast - taller than me with the same in spread...it might well have been there for decades though.
The chickens loved it!

Yup...I probably could have got them cheaper elsewhere if I'd hunted around. The GC is a rip off I must admit, but sometimes I see something there that I just 'have to have'. I am a hopeless case really...it's sad. ;)

You're preaching to the converted I'm afraid.... ;)))

hurray! :)) something to look forward to! I might succomb myself this week Karen. I've just been out and realised that the slugs have totally destroyed two heucherella 'sweet tea' plants in the borders. I shall have to get something in there to fill those gaps. One is completely gone, the other struggling bravely and trying to flower but it looks dreadful! I've put the bad one in a pot just incase it can regrow. The roots are huge and healthy, but there's no sign of top growth at all! You never know though!

Go for it girl - I like looking at your 'finds'!!! :)))
Good luck with the heucherella - as you say...you never know!

No plant shopping sadly today Karen. I have the dog on a new 'walking regime' so it takes three times as long to do her walk now. She was so aggressive with other dogs, and I recognised that it was due to fear, so I started a whole new disciplinary training regime which means walking at a snails pace until she stops being so frightened of everything. I had been striding along so fast, I hadn't even realised that she was terrified of everything, especially cars, cats and of course, other dogs. So now I have taken on the role of an 85 year old woman out for a walk!! It is extremely frustrating, but hopefully it will be all worthwhile and she will eventually calm down. Took me an hour and a half to do about 2 miles!! Still, all is not lost, I picked up two good pebbles on the beach for the pond!

Aha! It was here!!!
Don't worry K...you can teach an old dog new tricks (not that I'm casting nursturtiums at Mollie)!
It must be very frustrating for you...not even getting your daily '20 mins' out of walking the dog...
Shouldn't take too long though...Jack Russell's...clever little b*****s...
Sorry, Karen, that was the précis - it was much better in the original version... ;)))

lol...clever...yes she's certainly that! :))
