I'm not sure how long it's been there, I never noticed it before either, possibly be a new planting. It really does stand out though against the darker background.

I think the fronds are suppose to be greener. I can't remember which species of cycad this is.

I agree it probably should be greener. Maybe it needs warmer weather or a good feeding.

I think the fronds get bleached out in direct sun...especially, if it was grown in a shadier condition.
