Very early Brian, mine are only just recognisable and the foliage has not fully unfurled yet. Which variety is this one?

Beautiful Bjs...........
I have a deep pink one about to open, can't remember the name offhand,in its second year and first time flowering, only 3 buds so it'd better not rain tomorrow :-))

Probably the person who discovered it.

One of the 'rules' of plant naming is that you cannot name the plant after yourself. But someone else can name it for you. As you say, it was probably discovered, in its native Caucasus, by a Mr Mloksewitsch. In the same way, there are lots of plants called delavyi (after Mr Delavay), davidii (after Pere David), fortunei after Mr Fortune, etc.
Even Roy Lancaster has hypericum lancasteri (which he discovered)

Yes that makes sense, thanks Andrew for explaining that. Lets hope Mr Mloksewitsch didnt have too many other plants named after him. Mr Fortune is much easier to remember.
