Thanks, we keep it as a wildlife pond, no fish but loads of insects, newts, plants, grass snake in the summer, fox drinks from it every day.....also the local birds use it as a watering hole and bath too!! We used to keep Koi Carp in our last house but this time decided to go natural. It seems to have a wider variety of creatures :)

i was going to say please will you put some more pictures on, i think its really beautiful [except will you warn me if there is a snake picture on cos i really dont like them]

do you get ducks and ducklings on there?

So far no ducks and babies but they would be welcome!

As for the Grass snake, he is too quick for me to photo, I have tried but no luck :( Anyway not around at this time of the year, usually comes and sunbathes on the weed in the summer....so don't worry ;)

oooh lovely, thank you pam, btw did you ever read a book by Thelwell ~ its called 'A plank bridge by a pool' its about how they created a pond and everything that visited it. i liked it.

No can't say I have seen that book, sounds interesting, will look out for it, thanks :))

its on amazon, a friend recommended it to me, its quite old now but i rather liked it.

there is another book as well ~ i dont really know what sort of books you like but this one also comes to mind, its by Philippa Forester ~ called The River [her OH is a wildlife camera man who sometimes works for the BBC as she did] they bought a house next to a river to watch for kingfishers etc.
