I love these but climate too cold for them here - had one died

You should build yourself a conservatory Paul. I have two of these.....the second I'm thinking about keeping as a shrub.

they are lovely and worth getting

Yes, my bees go crazy for this....they love it!
By the way, we have a new bee hive. Five in total now.

that's great Alex - :)))))))

Yes it is Paul. The only thing that worries hubby now is that one of the hives is over populated and probably has a few Queen bees.....which means more swarms. Bad for this time of the year.....tourists about. He might have to remove the Queen bees for safety reasons.
I have to find out how to sell them.....

it's complicated stuff - someone in our road has bees too - she walks around in the gear - I thought she was doing sword fighting lol

Lol...lol...lol I'm in full gear when we go near the hives if not I stay a good distance away.

Alexandramou:

It's still a baby! I'm going to have to cut back my neighbor's huge 30ft/10m tall bottlebrush tree. It has red stamens all over my plant tent in the backyard.

I don't want it to become a monster....I'm keeping my other one shrub like.
My Bees go crazy for the bottle brush! I am officially 2nd in command of the bee hives now......received my very own hat and gloves!!! lol...lol

I'm so glad my neighbor doesn't have Callistemon viminalis (Weeping Bottlebrush) because it can grow to 70ft./22m tall here. It's funny, because if you read about Callistemon viminalis....most websites say it only grows to 30ft/10m tall...not in San Diego. It becomes a giant monster. lol

Yes, I am aware of how many bees this tree can attract. I like bees...just not in my face.

Lol....I am lucky so far.....my bees don't bother me. I try to ignore the sound of many many many many bees collecting pollen.....sometimes I just move away to another spot.
I need to go take some pictures of the hives close up now that I have my very own hat and gloves over the elbows....;o))))
