Isn't it weird to see the trees still so bare in the second week of May! The trees behind the house look to have barely begun to open their buds! It's the same here with all the large forest trees.

yes but it is good really, because - oak before ash we are in for a splash ash before oak we are in for a soak. They are Ash trees and the Oak in the wood is out already, are you getting just a little excited now.

just planted out my two window type boxes with fuschias and trailing lobelia etc. going to risk no more frost - will cover them if it is forecast. Also planted carrots and parsnips and runner beans, cut the front garden grass and weeded a border along the path side. I am cream crackered now. off to get some lunch and then have a nice shower will do the vaccuuming after I have had a cuppa. Clouding over down here rain forecast so I thought I would get my outside jobs done this morning.

Still raining here...but I don't mind. rain is good, it's the horrid cold grey hanging clouds I don't like Janey! Glad you had your rain and hope you get some sun now! :))

Fine again here at the moment and quite mild lovely really not a lot of sunshine but I can cope with this.

I read on the BBC news page that Gainsborough was a hotspot today at 19C Mum!

10 May, 2012

It is very warm but quite cloudy, sun is only breaking through on the odd occasion. It is 68 degrees farenheit whatever that converts to.

10 May, 2012

I think 70 is 20C, so that would be right!

10 May, 2012

11 May, 2012

It's still snowing in the highlands!

11 May, 2012

Hope it stays in the Highlands! We had a lot of rain again last night, garden is stood again in water this morning. It will have done my two new shrubs good that I put in yesterday though. Only 52 degrees this morning cloudy but with some sunshine at times. Off to do my baking for cricket teas tomorrow, Sundays match has been put off so I have got a free day on Sunday. YAY!!

I am going to stay Saturday night with Linda in Kippen (Linda is the one I was matron of honour for about 15 years ago now, when I had that lovely salmon pink gown). We are going to a classical concert and then out on the bevvies in the village. Should be good girly time. Scott is golfing again on Sunday all day, but I am going to an open garden on the way home from Linda's! :)))

11 May, 2012

Sounds like a good weekend - enjoy. Hope Scott enjoys his golf too. Open garden sounds very nice hope that the sun shines for you.

11 May, 2012

Actually, now you mention it, I shall be visiting the garden in the rain! Forecast is for a good day tomorrow but more rain on Sunday :( Still, I'll take my waterproof and cloudy skies are better for photos anyway! :)

11 May, 2012

this is true, but sunshine is much nicer for walking around in. You never know they might have got the forecast wrong. We are forecast better day tomorrow, so we should get cricket match played.

11 May, 2012

Absolutely horrible day here....very dark clouds, cold and very windy. No garden visit. I went to Glendoick and had a bowl of soup ( on which I burned my tongue), looked at the indoor stuff, got slug pellets and came home!

13 May, 2012

I saw the forecast for you I did wonder if you would not go out. It was a bad day for you, cold tonight down here too. Not been bad weather all day, sunny one minute cloudy next. No rain though so that is good. Lost at cricket on Saturday doooooooh
but 1st team won away so not all bad news. lol. Sam popped down to watch on Saturday so it was good to catch up on gossip (gareth was in Edinburgh on stag night out). Not a lot else to report, will speak soon xxxx mum xxxx
