I love all those pumpkins you have placed about the garden. Does anything eat them?

No, nothing eats them, but they do rot away after a while.

You don't fancy pumpkin pie then? before they get too ripe. Do you compost them? I find the blackbirds love my windfall apples and I don't pick them up I just leave them. It can be quite late in the winter before they eat them, often after Christmas. Do you grow them? I tried pumpkins several times and cucumbers but I was never successful. I suppose I was not interested enough to make the effort to find out what I was doing wrong. It has never stopped raining today which is a real nuisance because yesterday we put together the discounted cold frame I bought in Lidl. If you have ever assembled MFI furniture and ended up swearing then you can imagine the fun we had yesterday. In the end, although all of the pieces were there, my OH went and got a saw and cut up some wood and screwed the four sides to the wood then we got the lid on to discover there is no facility for closing it tight. So the lid is now anchored with a slice cut from a slab we used earlier on something else. I was going to move the geraniums I overwintered in the greenhouse into it but it was far to wet. It will have to wait. What is your weather like?
