I have one - I love my grasses :)))

I Love grasses but dont where to put them. Saw a very dark grass at GC. Very effective. Any Ideas anyone where I could plant a couple? :))

Hi maggiekins, this one likes an open sunny spot with free draining soil so really you need to look at what situation they like, i also have carex sparkler but that likes a bit more moisture so thats in a different place, i also have miscansthus 'ferner osten' (about 5ft) again i have got that in the sunny south facing border with the Stipa, in a new border created last year which i am trying to plant 'hot' colours,
Its best to look at what conditions they like and how tall they grow, this Stipa grows quite large so have put it in the centre of border as a feature, but it still quite young, have had it 2 years :^))
