We brought this one from the UK in the roofbox of the car, along with all our English rare-breed apple trees. No nuts ever. Don't care - very pretty.

Certainly is pretty..I thought it was Fred in the thumb nail.. On the Hazel here...I mean right here by me in the woods there are MASSES of black beetles eating the leaves....I am trying to ID them but they are just Black.

Oh Lor! Don't send any over here!
It's ironic - the previous owners spent a couple of years clearing the land of thousands of hazel trees/bushes to make this garden, and we, all unknowing, brought foreign ones back in!

I inherited this tree and had been wondering what it was but now I know! Have you ever harvested nuts? Me - never. I obviously missed the timing because I got rid of lots of seedlings which looked like nuts of some kind.
