Amazing how fast my water butts can run down Sticki, just need the odd shower now n then

Its an old post office trolly Junna, that fell to pieces then I put some new wood on.

lovely composition, makes a terrific scene.

how deep isihe boxt? I'm always wary of not giving plants enough depth, so I usually give them much too much!

Fran I put some lining in so the wood didnt rot and a bit of gravel, a couple of holes so it will drip into the tray below. I guess about 6-7 inches is ok, well seems to be ok

were they relatively easy to fix stevie? i have an ideal spot for two of them ~ but need to get easy to work type!!!

simple if you have a brain sticki, (which of course you have). I cant be ***sed with the taps so just dip n dunk so a bit at the bottom is always difficult but quick to fill.
If you have two have the over flow needs to near the top but lower enough to allow a good flow, then your setting of the capture thing is key to the wholw thing and need to get the height just right (but it will have a mark on the side) or you can just have the pipe go straight into the top which is better for short showers but you need an efficent overflow, lots of combos
but the price of some of these is far too high imo

Really cool effect Steve!

ok, thank you, i had in mind two downpipes that come down either end of a roof ~ appx 9 metres apart, so i was going to put one on each down pipe and wasnt going to connect them ~ perhaps if i start with those and add more depending on how successful/how much they catch?

i hadnt thought about the heights of overflow or inpipe for that matter!!! must go and look at a few options!!!
