52 days later....

not bitter cold...but very warm and dry! There was unsettled weather yesterday but only a few drops of rain! I get tired of moaning about the weather....ugh.

Thanks Sticki...This spring's major job was digging this bed. The original bed is the narrow margin on the far right. Donated a lot of blood to this project! The soil is gravelly sand...need to pour lots of OM into it!

i do admire you lori, it must be such hard work, but what a fabulous place to live and the life style must be amazing ~ although very tough at times.

Thanks Sticki...Yes, it's a slog sometimes. We are so happy to be here. Hubby is my cheerleader. He helps me keep going when I feel inclined to say "to heck with it"...lol. Today's drama was the culvert which carries the water from the stream under our driveway. There was a sink hole developing and it appeared that some of the fill was washing away via a gap in the metal under the road.
Got it patched up and serviceable again with the help of a kind neighbour. (the family who own the piggies!) We have great neighbours here.

that must make all the difference, i think of you gardening there out in the almost wilderness a bit like being on the outer hebrides [although they dont have trees cos its too windy] ~ remote wild beautiful but not that easy.

lol... yes it's a challenge, but I asked for it, didn't I? I have only so much energy and it seems to go only so far...and some days it's depressing because there are things need doing and I'm just not up to it. I just plug along and my glacial speed and hope for the best.

Glacial speed?! What a brilliant phrase, must remember that one, I'm not sure it's true mind you, on the other hand glaciers are mighty effective!

I don't seem to have anything like the energy I used to have, where did it go?

That is a great term...Glacial...slow but extremely effective! I too get fed up hearing myself moaning about the weather Lori. It's been beautiful here for a week now and I just can't bear the thought of it changing....but change it certainly will! :)) Still, enjoy while it lasts :)

LOL...It's a great life, if you don't weaken...isn't that how the old song goes? Hub says: "every day above ground is a good one!" lol... Learning to deal with aging is like adolescence in a strange way...our bodies are changing and it's not easy getting used to the changes. I don't mind the weather changes...just wish they weren't so extreme. lately our weather has been bizarro.

:)) Nice one Lori!

glacial speed is such a good description Lori, i had to read it again before it hit me, you are describing me perfectly.. have to remember that one
espcially at the moment, it is 6pm and still 32C in the shade, not sure where the 'glacial' fits in at these temperatures though, any glaciers here would have melted by now as i feel i am very slowly doing, drip, drip, drip

Goodness Resi...find some shade, Quickly! I think it's the extremes that cause all the complaints. Last couple of summers I've realized that I can't stand the extreme heat. Have often thought I'd like to experience a tropical climate but don't think I could stand the 30 degree temps ...all the time...ouch. September is always welcome, especially if August has been a sizzler. Keep cool now!
