This very common tree has some of the most sweetly fragrant flowers of any tree I know. You want to eat the flowers, they're so sweet. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on Memorial Day - May 28, 2012.

There's many trees blooming right now. I think it's an easy tree to keep small in a pot. I read it's a pretty hardy tree, also.

San Marcos say 15-20°f which is almost -10°c...............

Yes, I saw this information. I didn't realize this tree was this hardy...it was always said to be hardy to 25°F./ -3.9°C.
San Marcos Growers is located in Santa Barbara County...about a 3 1/2 hour drive north of San Diego.
