Fell in love with this one at Gardeners World Live a couple of years ago, eventually it will grow veeeery big, love the huge hostas and this has really thick leaves which the slugs seem to leave alone, so far :-)

Are yours really big Lil ?, can't wait till this grows, it was on a display at the Gardeners World show and it was amazing.
Yes Motinot that little primulas doing great bought it a few weeks ago with one flower spike and its suddenly started sending up loads more, must like it there, its war on the ivy soon though, this border is on the edge of our little wood which is full of the stuff,we've only just started clearing and planting in there, apart from spring bulbs, just waiting for their foliage to die back then its out with the roundup :-)
Thanks Paul :-)

It is stunning. I also love them, especially the very big ones and the very small ones! lol. I am always stopped in my tracks by a display of hostas...the shapes...very compelling! I do manage to make room for a few here and so far, no slug damage this year which is incredible as they have been munching everything else......or could it be weevils that are doing the damage?....hmmmm

Yes Simbad....all of my hostas are huge, probably bc I don't split them.

Same here Karen, hostas have been left alone but I planted some young salvia plants, within a couple of days they were like lace doilies, went out last night and found the culprits some really tiny white slugs, the fish had a good meal :-))

Oh thankyou Lil I'll have a look :-)
Its doing great Dawn, not that big yet but sure it'll get there:-), I've bought a few others recently too, a very nice blue coloured one with a thin cream edge, 'Tom Schmid', it'll grow in full shade which is good for the wood, must take some pictures.
