For years an ebony spleenwort has grown right next to my house's stone foundation. This spring it disappeared, but I found this little one yesterday growing in between the stones. I love the look of ferns peeking out from a stone wall so I hope this is just the first of many!

In Vermont, plants have more freedom. i have a couple of these wall Ferns. I am always looking to find them. It is so much fun. I will definitely look into the book. Thanks

these are apparently difficult to propagate. I have thought about buying some small ones and sticking them in the crevices of the wall....if they don't do well I;ll just transplant them into the garden.
