Yes Meanie, it's in the lee of a flowering crab apple so protected from the worst of the winter weather

I know what you mean. I bought it two years ago and never saw it last year (too dry?). So I was very pleasantly surprised when it came up this year and flowered for me.

My challenge this year is to grow Iochroma australis from seed large enough to try in a sheltered spot for most of the winter. I know of someone in Kent who has found it to be fully hardy............
