Shell pond

From our raised patio looking into the conservatory. Just in front of the patio we have a small pond which is lined with all the shells we have collected on our seaside hols. The duckweed came from a small sample taken from the local canal. On the left is a phlox, which provides a carpet of pink in May. On the far side is variegated ivy (not everyone's favourite, but it provides colour all-year-round, so we have quite a lot). On this side is lavender and other plants in pots. Clothes are drying in the conservatory - a win-win because the clothes dry quickly on a warm day and the plants love the extra humidity.

Just a few petunias in a pot. This side of the pond is our patio and its a good place for pots as it gets a lot of sun - geraniums, lavender, lilies, etc.
