Almost missed this one today it has lots of long scapes but these where quite near the ground, obviously hiding from the wind :-), huge flowers 9inch across, a newbie this year, love it, the colour is more peachy than the picture shows.

Well done Kathy! I am still waiting for flowers from my big clump,. if none this year thinking of dividing and moving! what do you think?

Oh yes Kathy, I love the large blooms!

They certainly are Dawn, not my biggest though I have one thats 14inch across !!!!
Yes I'd divide if they don't flower Carole, reduced flowering is a sign they need splitting :-))
Thanks Daglelie me to, the bigger the better :-) the pictures not showing the colour of this well, is described as 'tangerine brushed cinammon' on Tinkers.

Thankyou Wylie, I've wanted this for a while :-)
Its a little better here today, poor you:-(, its the gall midge driving me mad today thought they'd passed me by, wishful thinking lol, 4 or 5 handfuls on buds in the bin today grr,the worst affected is 'Edge of Darkness', good job its their only pest.

I'm lucky I don't have gall midge - yet. I have been seeing more daylilies around the island, so it is only a matter of time before someone imports gall midge and daylily rust. Can you post a picture of it sometime so I know what to look for?
24 Jun, 2012
Now I am envious :-), luckily its only the early varieties that are affected and some don't get it at all, why they only go for certain varieties I don't know.
I'll take some pictures tomorrow, sure I'll find some more then :-(
Now rust is something we don't get or want, aaaargh.

Kathy, I would like to see what this gall midge looks like. I don't have the faintest idea. Maybe when I see it, I will know.
