Purple Tiers hydrangea

I agree about the prettiest, I love this one with it's little stars.

Such wonderful colour, too, or should I say "colours".

So beautiful !

They are prettiest shortly after the flowers open, the purple and blue are really deep but start to fade after a few weeks. It looks really nice in the shade with hostas or hemlocks and the leaves and flowers have done better in shade (maybe because it has been so hot). I just planted it today at my new house with one of my japanese maples and hinoki cypress.

This new garden of yours sounds rather special, Rkwright - any chance of some pictures?

Once I get closer to finishing I'll add some more pictures. The area where I planted this one only has half the grass removed so far and I still have a few gaps to fill in. It is coming along nicely though.
