Lovely colour , are later flowers reliably more double Drc ? I'm looking for a nice red double ,I have one which is lovely but the least bit of rain and the flowers are ruined, not good in the uk ,unless I give it it's own brolly :-)

Not sure I can answer that Sim - apart from Fulva flore pleno Tawny, its only my 3 summer of growing them, but what I can say, this has been consistent in flowering and is a lovely deep colour and glows from the centre, but so far only one bloom at a time. What I have found is that although they all seem to thrive in my heavy clay, it is slow! so none of them are ready to divide yet.

Some doubles can take a while to settle before they're completely double, I have one called Forty Second Street the first year the flowers were all single but the following year lots of doubles, in fact double and single flowers at the same time at one point, quite nice, the only one I have thats double from the first flower is Solid Geometry thats a cracker :-))

Now thats interesting Sim, I didnt know that, I have had that happen and been disappointed in a single that should have been a double.
