Rosa 'Crown Princess Margareta' climbing and Honeysuckle 'Gold Flame'

Rosa 'Crown Princess Margareta' climbing and Honeysuckle 'Gold Flame'

I feel I've misrepresented this honeysuckle. I've been saying it has very little scent, but I was mistaken. The scent is good, in the evening.

Another perfect match. A lot of mine are stronger in the evening, maybe for the moths and in turn for the bats.

I've noticed that too. Beautiful rose.

Lots of moths use the Honeysuckle in their lifecycle.

I think as well as bing stronger scented in the evening, it is warmth rather than light they need..

Yes I agree Pimp.

Indeed, I only noticed the scent on Saturday when the sun came out for a while and it was so warm.....:(

Ta! :D

Homebird, you are kind. I don't actually think I am good at it at all. Spritzhenry is the one for that! I do have some good combos, but it's not all like that in my garden...some of it is.....well, leaves room for improvement!

Agree with the above . . a perfect combination Karen.

Beautiful Karen.

Thank you Denise! :D It is putting on a brave show...it could easily be November here today ....again. :(

It's easy to miss the perfumes that are mainly produced in the evening, especially in poor weather - I have yet to smell my nicotiana, which are looking good. I haven't been out much on these wet evenings! And it's the first year that the honeysuckle outside the French window has really flowered - but the French window is firmly shut!

Oh my...she is so pretty!

It's a nice one M. Only got it last year and it's taking ages to get going, mainly because of the terrible wet at its roots, but it seems to be coping......just!
