Thanks again for your comment. I have a big gap at the top in the middle, would welcome some suggestions for filling it, fancy a samubucus black lace but not sure if it's suitable. The soil is on top of limestone bedrock. Also the choicya sundance could do with pruning but not sure how much as it's a little lopsided.

Choisyas seem to cope quite well with pruning.
In my gardens, I try to include more and more which are evergreen and also those which have winter interest.
