This has no red on the stalk or leaves...
the leaves taste mildly lemon/salt

I've never tried serving it, Dorjac. just tried the leaves so I could tell Resi, how it tasted, as she has the red sorrel and uses it to flavour soup. I used the seed heads, dried and sprayed, as interest in winter arrangements.

I was sure that this was weedy...the one decorative thing about it, is that at the present time, the blue wild echium, Viper's Bugloss, and the blue wild chicory are blooming along the roadsides...this plant interspersed has gone to seed and the seedheads are a reddish rusty colour...they make the deeptone...while the mellitilot( sp: Resi?) tall white sweet smelling trefoil is the highlight and the blues and a touch of yellow buttercup makes the wildflower "roadshow" a treat to behold.

you'll have to do a 'going for a walk' blog sometime Lori, it would be interesting to see what Canadian countrylanes look like this time of the year.
