Cherry tomatoes

Wow they are coming along nicely Carol ,I love the little cherry ones ...

I've got some shirley tomatoe plants, plenty of flowers but no tomatoes yet.

I love these - what variety are they? I grow Gardener's Delight.

I think these are Gardener's Delight, I got free seeds from one of the garden trips i went on last year, dont think there doing very well this year could do with abit more sun and heat.

Mine are the same - there are quite a few coming along, but the whole plants look a bit less exuberant than usual. I didn't grow from seed this year, and bought these rather early. I wondered whether that had anything to do with it, but agree it's probably the weather.

I'm not into veg growing, so i'm just blaming the weather for them not being to brill, instead of myself :o)))

I just stick them in and have a go! I've always been very pleased with the crops - I've been growing them for about 12 years. I started growing a few runner beans in pots 4 years ago. They are a bit of a disaster this year, because snails have got at them. The good thing about runners is that even if the growing tips are eaten, they send out more from lower down. A couple of the plants are totally ruined though. I know it's partly because they are growing up against the greenhouse - it's a super slip-road to the plants. But I grow them as much for ornamentation and shading as anything else and the crop is a bonus. I go on snail hunts each evening, so we shall see!

I started growing tomatoes about 3/4yrs ago as i find this time of year my greenhouse was empty, so by the time the tomatoes are ready and i get rid of the plants i can start putting plants in that need over wintering, and around Febuary i start putting my trays of flower seeds etc in.
