It's quite old...but I chipped it with the shovel! you can see that the rose has lost part of one petal. still love it...

My grandmother had one of these. I don't know what happened to it.

as we live in an old farm house, when we dig we find old rusty tractor parts and lots of glass from old greenhouses. but i did find the silver bit from the top of a military cane and a few horse shoes. but im still looking for the pieces of 8...lol

I found an old horseshoe in the shed and a rusty machete......lost a ring...and found it again, while mixing compost! That's the luckiest I've been. (aside of the brooch)

Old fashioned shallow sinks/butler sinks/ chimney pots were in a previous rubbish dump of a garden we once cleared. Never found anything small and precious.

i found my glasses in the compost heap years ago, i had lost them in the garden but of course no idea where as i am constantly taking them off and forgetting where i left them, nrly 2 years later they turned up. other than that, some horsebells when still in the uk, but thats it, oh in our old house here in france i found a number of home forged iron tools buried in a wild hedge which i use religiously still

Dorjac and Resi...you have both found things that might be useful in a garden...that is great! Antique tools which can withstand burial for a decade or two must be strong as well a precious!...and haven't we seen a few folk here on GoY displaying troughs, sinks and chimney pots as planters?! I can dig it!! ;-) ps: It seems resistant to cutting...should I try airlayering?

make sure you give it a good watering first and dont forget the humidity factor when airlayering....lol.
They are more farmers tools than garden tools, Lori but equally good for loads of jobs around my garden.
