A moist humus-rich soil. I've given mine part shade but the first garden I saw it in, it was growing against a south-facing wall

I can see why that could be your favorite hydrangea. I like the lacecap hydrangeas best and that one is flowering very nicely. I'm not familiar with that variety either, I'll have to look it up. I saw your 'Blue Bird' hydrangea and really like that one too. Do you have a lot of hydrangeas?

Only five shrubby hydrangeas. As well as this one, 'Preziosa' and 'Bluebird', I have a H. quercifolia and a H. paniculata. I also grow the climber H. seemanii
