Lobelia

Lobelia

I bought these Cambridge blue lobelia in individual pots. I don't think they are as good value as the dark ones I got in trays, but they are pleasingly unruly!
The snail eating the runner beans on the left hand side obviously hasn't (yet) discovered how to reach the other side of the door.

Either I got him, or there's something seriously wrong! And I'm afraid even the ones on the right are pretty well nibbled!!

Very nice lobelia, in spite of snails. Terra has some extraordinary too :))

Thank you Katarina! Having been a bit disappointed with it, I am getting to admire its exuberance, even though there's rather more green than blue!

Mine even did not bloom this year. And I must really made a big search to find them in GC, as they are first sold. I for instance like decent colours in a lot of green. One painter here is making pictures like that and they are very popular :))

I must admit I am very fond of green, Katarina. I like foliage plants and interesting leaves. The lobelia I usually get in a tray are almost entirely flowers, and I always have a lot of them. When I saw these in pots, I thought they would be the same only bigger. So I was quite surprised, and for a while wondered of they were going to flower at all. Now I know what I have got, I am very pleased with them!

They are nice. They did not meet your expectatios, but they are lovely green cushions :))

Pretty picture, have you tried a beer trap for those slugs and snails Melchi. They love those and die happy. lol.

I'm afraid I don't do anything, Oliveoil, except regular hunts and relocation! I probably deserve all I get!

Somebody on Goy did an experiment painting nail varnish on the shells and depositing snails up to 300m from home only the 300m ones did not return so be warned throwing them over the garden fence does not work.

I'm afraid it doesn't! By the way - they do go into the woods on the school site, not into my neighbours' gardens!

LOL I was not accusing you of that honestly. I used to throw mine over in to the field behind us but that did not work either. I don't use slug poellets because I think they attract more than they get rid of and I don't want to harm the thrushes who eat them.

I didn't think for one moment you were!!! I just thought I'd better clarify it lol! I hate slug pellets too, even the "safe" ones. I just sigh and put up with it!
