This is my absolute favourite red, almost looks like velvet, a bit lighter colour than usual this year.

Thanks Clarice :-), far too many as my OH says,lol, he's banned me from extending the daylily bed anymore, I'll just do it when he's at work, he'll never notice,lol ;-)

He might suspect something when it doesn't take as long to mow the grass :)
You know that what causes the velvet sheen is the top layer of cells are shaped like a Russian onion dome instead of round (that comes from an article by Mahieu-Burris on hybridizing).

See Wylie I'm doing him a favour,lol, less grass to cut, he won't notice believe me, we were in a garden centre the other day and he commented on some plant being nice, he'd walked passed it many times in the garden while cutting the grass and never noticed it!!!!!
