Barleria oenotheroides - Giant Yellow Shrimp Plant

This plant is really blooming very well. The yellow flowers fade to a deep purple. Photo taken July 31, 2012.

This Barleria species isn't very common here. I think it's only used pretty widely in the Miami, Florida area (as a small shrub). I'll have to see if it'll set some seed pods.

This plant produced one seed from last year's flower spike. I think this plant will easily produce seeds...not like my sterile Eranthemum pulchellum (Tropical Blue Sage).

I planted the one seed this plant produced in this with this plant. I hope it grows! It should be germinating, as the weather has been very warm and muggy!
